Our eBook subscriptions have different user limits. Some eBooks allow multiple users to access it simultaneously, while others only allow one user to access it at a time.

  • ProQuest Ebook Central: User sessions timeout after 30 minutes of inactivity. This setting affects when an eBook becomes available for other users if there is a limit on the number of simultaneous users.

  • eBooks on EBSCOhost:  eBooks become available to other users after the last user’s EBSCOhost session expires (30 minutes, by default), and the system confirms that they haven’t used the title in 5 minutes (for a total of up to 35 minutes).

In short: if you can't access an eBook, try again in an hour to see if it becomes available again. If you run into any other problems, send us a message via Ask the Library so we can investigate the issue.
